Why isn't the user's e-mail address used when sending a message to another Medius user?

Modified on Thu, 16 Feb, 2023 at 10:04 AM

Prior to release R53, e-mail messages from MediusFlow were sent using users' e-mail addresses. This caused some spam filters to incorrectly classify such messages as spam. In R53, we introduced the antispoofing mechanism. As a result, all messages are now sent from a standard e-mail address: info@email.mediusflow.com.

This solved the spam filters problem, but it also means that you cannot respond to an email from info@email.mediusflow.com and expect the user who e.g. mentioned you in a comment to receive the response.

It is possible to turn antispoofing  off, restoring the functionality from before R53. To do this, go to the Email Provider Configuration administration page and set the Antispoofing option to No.

Warning

You should only change this configuration if you sure it will work correctly in your environment. If you have any questions, contact Medius Support.
